Catching Them Caring At St. Peter Catholic School in Trenton

On February 28th, the St. Peter Catholic School Student Council presented a series of skits to the entire student body to build awareness of the Anti-Bullying “Pink T-shirt Day” which is being held at the school February 29th and in many schools in Canada.  This day of celebration links with the school-wide initiative “Caught You Caring” where staff recognizes students who are treating others with respect in a caring manner.   It also links to a big idea theme of “Understanding Others.”  Mrs. Lightfoot’s Grade 1 class has been particularly active in where they have extended their reading of the book, “How Full Is Your Bucket?”  which describes that everyone’s  “bucket” happiness can be enriched by showing kindness to others.  The Grade 1 class has been quietly and actively doing kind deeds around the school and also writing positive drop-shaped notes of kindness to help others understand they value each other.
